This collection comprises research by contemporary Jungian analysts, therapists, and clinical psychologists from Russia, Great Britain, the USA, and France, dedicated to a series of engravings from the 16th-century alchemical treatise "Rosarium Philosophorum." C.G. Jung introduced these illustrations to a wide readership in his book "Psychology of the Transference," interpreting them within the context of the transference/countertransference relationship between analyst and patient.
The authors of this collection offer their approaches to working with the "Rosarium" engravings. Dale Mathers examines their application in clinical work. François Martin-Vallas discusses the Chimera of transference arising in the psychotherapist-client relationship field. Marcus West, guiding the reader through the series of engravings, describes the resolution of narcissism. Brigitte Subrouillard's article is devoted to the intersubjective field of supervision. Allan Drehmala introduces readers to a lesser-known version of the "Rosarium" created by the Czech alchemist Jarosh Grimiller. Elena Purtova, drawing on images from the "Rosarium," examples from analytical practice, and world poetry and prose, writes about the inner journey in search of Divine embraces. August J. Zwick analyzes a number of "Rosarium" images that were not considered in Jung's work.
The book is intended for practicing analytical psychologists, as well as anyone interested in analytical psychology. The appendix includes original illustrations from the treatise "Rosarium Philosophorum." Most of the materials are published for the first time.
