Training course "Jungian Fairytale Therapy"

The aim of the course is to introduce the fundamentals of the method of working with myth, legend, tradition, and fairy tale in analytical psychology, to develop a Jungian worldview, and to develop symbolic thinking.

During the training you will:

gain an understanding of the theoretical foundations of analytical psychology;
get acquainted with the basic principles of analytical psychology;
get acquainted with the structure of the psyche according to Jung, the main archetypes;
get acquainted with the theoretical foundations of the method of working with a fairy tale;
gain practical experience in group work with the experience of myths, traditions, legends, and fairy tales;
in the direct experience of a fairy tale you will have the opportunity to touch your own unconscious constructs;
Master methods of working with fairy tales, both individually and in a group format.

The course is intended for:
- psychologists, psychotherapists of any schools and directions;
— students of psychological universities;
— for everyone who wants to look inside themselves, get to know the figures of their own unconscious, and find resources once lost.

The course structure includes theoretical and practical sections for each section of the program. All classes are held in group meetings. Theoretical material is covered through interactive lecture-discussion sessions, supported by practical examples, everyday situations, and literary references. Students are also required to work independently with the recommended texts. The practical section involves full-fledged group work with myths, folktales, legends, and fairy tales, gaining client experience and the experience of a psychologist working with fairy tales in a Jungian framework.

1. Fairy tale and myth. Stages of psychotherapy. The Celtic legend "The Cauldron of Rebirth."
2. Theory of interpretation. Symbol and symptom. The Great Father and mythical Ancestors. Cosmogonic myths.
3. The Great Mother. Separation: birth – teenage crisis – midlife crisis – death.
4. Archetypes and Complexes. The Story of Liu Ye.
5. The structure of the psyche. Persona. Guide to the surface. Hachikatsugi.
6. Shadow. Symbols of manifestation. Projection. Sister Alyonushka. Scapegoat complex.
7. Self-envy. The theme of doubles, twins. A silver saucer, a ripe apple.
8. Animus. Guide to the Depths. The Lost Boy.
9. Anima: Depression, timelessness, enchantment. Inspiration. Daughter of the Aergs – bride of the Narts.
10. The Great Spirit. The Gatekeeper at the Gate of the Self. The Three Princes.
Practice Block - from 6 to 12 meetings
11. Trauma. Self. Child and Old Man. Redemption Motif. Enchanted Forest. Return. Reconnecting. Enchanted Forest.
12. Completion. Ritual of transition. Return to real time.

Practice – conducting a lesson in your study group as a leader; the fairy tale is chosen at will; written work on preparing the lesson is submitted in advance.

Elena Nikolaevna Senkina is an analytical psychologist, Jungian fairy tale therapist, and instructor in the regional program "Jungian Analysis" at the Moscow Academy of Psychology. She is a certified facilitator of the Shadow Work® method and a systemic constellation facilitator.
